HEELS Sandwich - by @JoshuaMcLane of South Point Grocery in Memphis, TN

Peanut Butter, Strawberry Jam, Jalapeños, and Cheese. This is the sandwich and the man that everyone is talking about. This recipe makes enough PBJ mixture for a few sandwiches.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Roasted Jalapeños

  • 1/2 jar Strawberry Jam

  • 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce

  • 1 jar Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 cup Canola Oil

  • 2 slices Thin Bacon cooked your favorite way

  • 2 slices "salty-ass" Provolone

  • Small French Baguette Roll

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F

  2. In one bowl, puree the Jalapeños and stir them into the Strawberry Jam.

  3. In another bowl, over a double-boiler, combine Frank's Red Hot, Peanut Butter, and Canola Oil.

  4. On one slice of the French Baguette Roll, add Peanut Butter Mixture and top with 1 slice of Bacon and 1 slice of Provolone.

  5. On the other slice of bread, add Jam Mixture and top with Bacon and Provolone.

  6. Place in the oven until the cheese melts then fold together into a sandwich.

*"The key to this one is equal portions of everything. Otherwise, it's just a weird PB&J or a sweet grilled cheese or an insane bacon sandwich."
